Alward Fisher Partner Jennifer L. Whitten Appointed Judge to Grand Traverse County Probate Court

TRAVERSE CITY, MICHIGAN, February 3, 2022.  Alward, Fisher, Rice, Rowe & Graf, PLC is pleased to announce that partner Jennifer L. Whitten has been appointed Judge of the Grand Traverse County Probate Court, replacing the Hon. Melanie Stanton – who retired last year.  Whitten, an accomplished family, criminal and estate planning attorney, has been with Alward Fisher for almost a decade.

“Jennifer is a bright, rising star in the Michigan legal community, and has provided trusted counsel to Alward Fisher clients for many years,” says Edward G. While her experience is diverse, including years as an Assistant Prosecutor in Ingham County, Whitten’s recent practice has been focused on family law and estate planning.  She is well-known in the Traverse City legal community for her compassionate presence while strongly advocating for her client’s interests.

Whitten was appointed to the bench by Governor Gretchen Whitmer.  She received her J.D., summa cum laude from the Michigan State University College of Law, and her B.A., summa cum laude, from Alma College.
